One afternoon the Skills team received an email on behalf of Bacardi, asking if Carlitos could paint 4 bottles for 4 Grammy nominees. With no additional details, they were immediately interested. The team quickly gathered and got to work on how they could make this project possible. As this being Carlitos first time painting bottles, he didn’t know what to expect, or how to even put a price on this one of a kind project. After much strategizing they responded to the email with much interest, and accepted the challange. Bacardi sent the team an NDA, which was signed and that’s when they finally told the Skills team who these hand painted bottles would be personalized for. One of them being the biggest artist on the planet, Bad Bunny. Once the team found out, they were super stocked and ready to begin the project. Bacardi gave Carlitos full creativity on the design of this bottle wanting him to create a one of a kinda, never before seen, hand painted Bacardi Superior Rum Bottle, with his own twist, only requiring that the nomination of the artist be written somewhere in the design.

Once the team had all the information of the project, they received the contract. Carlitos and his designer began making sketches for the bottles and the packing. After 2 sketches being looked at and approved, the team quickly began on the production, all while being documented by the Skills photographer. The Skills team worked on a collage of El Conejo portraits, to make one. Carlitos overcame many challenges, but by applying different techniques from his experience painting murals and tattooing, he made his vision become reality. The elements on this bottle are a mix between the Puerto Rican culture, tropical elements with bold colors and of course a touch of Bad Bunny latest album cover, “Un Verano Sin Ti”.
“Esta botella representa ese sentimiento de libertad que sentimos cuando gritamos Puerto Rico al compás de la música del artista número uno del planeta.
Esta mezcla de emociones se transmite de manera visual en un balance de colores e imágenes que transforman el perfil del conejo. Nada más que un honor el ser boricua e inmortalizar la imagen de ti Benito, quien hoy representas a la gran mayoría de jóvenes y adultos que creen en su isla y en su talento.
!PUERTO RICO ESTÁ CAB#0%!”
